BIRD OF THE DAY - RUFOUS BANDED HONEYEATER! [Paul Fraser pic] |
The new group has arrived and the game starts again in the suburbs of Weipa. A few hours birding and a yield of 68 species. Quite a good beginning and the debate of the Bird of the day was almost intense.... Some six species were nominated with the eventual winner Rufous Banded Honeyeater.
The new group has been set the challenge of beating the first group's target of 259. Today we saw one species that the last group did not see - the Pied Heron.
