 Windmill Creek is nearly twenty kilometres south of Musgrave and a known site for the endangered Golden shouldered Parrot. As soon as we arrived I got a little nervous. The place had changed. The dam had changed. The vegetation had changed and I think the birds did too. Still we decided to wait it out and I’m glad we persisted as we were lucky enough to find a pair of the birds who flew in and stayed for a few minutes – long enough for everyone to get decent views.
